The town of La Rochefoucauld-en-Angoumois is giving a date to the good people, damsels and beautiful ladies, for a great medieval festival: “La Roche à Foucauld“.
Go back in time and immerse yourself in a medieval atmosphere in the park of the castle of La Rochefoucauld, transformed for the occasion. Young and old alike will enjoy two dream days.
During this festival, you can try your hand at ancient hobbies such as crossbow shooting, archery or axe throwing. You can also attend workshops in vegetable dyeing or pottery. In the heart of the medieval village set up in the shade of the trees in the park, there is a succession of craftsmen (wood sculptor, saffron maker, glass blower, leather work, etc.) as well as archers, string players, bronze founders and stone carvers….
The two days are punctuated by various performances: combat demonstrations, knights’ tournaments, shows by theatre, music and juggling troupes, falconry shows, etc.
Not forgetting the games course for children with the knighting of young knights, the beggars’ village and their camp, the witch’s cave, the medieval meal on Saturday evening (reservation required)…
