1. the medieval festival La Roche à Foucauld
During a weekend in July, the town of La Rochefoucauld-en-Angoumois and its castle will be immersed in a medieval atmosphere. Here is a small glimpse of what awaits you: a stroll through the town, a combat demonstration, a knights’ tournament, pranks, games for children, craftsmen and exhibitors (woodcarvers, jewellery designers, leatherworkers, but also archers, string players, stonecutters), a village of beggars, music, theatre, juggling and falconry shows, a medieval meal… in short, two days full of entertainment during which you will be disconnected from the world of today.
